There have been many trends within "churchianity" which carried the sheep away from scripture and into the world. Because the "church" has rejected one part of scripture, the law, it has become easier to rationalize and do away with any other areas of scripture which may clash with their worldly, carnal daily lives.Without the eternal standard of Yahweh's unchanging commands, personal beliefs become just that- personal. They change and evolve, not around scripture, but around society and culture. Rather than the church impacting and changing our society, society impacts and changes the church. Without a standard, you're just making up the rules as you go.
Nowhere is this as obvious as the scriptural roles of women. Television, movies, books, music, magazines, the entire Babylonian system, have emasculated men; portraying them as bumbling fools constantly needing women to come along and save them from their own ineptitude and fix all that they have destroyed. Meanwhile women have been made the true heroes of our world. This is NOT to demean women at all, but no woman ever became a HERO in Yahweh's word by overthrowing Yahweh's natural design. They became heroes because they trusted in the Father's design and walked in obediance to it.
The enemies of Yahweh and His Israel people needed to corrupt and destroy the family unit above all, for the family unit is at the core of Yahweh's kingdom. Hence, the patriarchial standard of the family and of our society had to be upset, and a matriarchal standard, with women wielding the authority, instituted to replace it. The change came not from scripture, but from pop culture. In order to become more relevant to society, the church relaxed it's standards, reinterpreted scripture to give more room for expanding ideas (James 3:15This wisdom descendeth not from above, but [is] earthly, sensual, devilish." ). "Christians" used to reject the law of Yahweh claiming that they were "New Testament Christians". But now admonishing from clear "New Testament" scripture will fire the majority up to respond with charges of LEGALISM!
Well, if it's scripture, why is legalism so bad?
And then, of course, there is always the "that was then, this is now" response. This of course makes ALL the Word of God subject to society and society's whims. Yet scripture says,"Malachi 3:6 "For I [am] the LORD, I change not;" as well as Proverbs 24:21:" My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: [and] meddle not with them that are given to change: For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?"
The plain, simple truth is that "christians" do not want to be a "peculiar people". They want to blend in, be accepted and liked.(James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.). They love the world and have no desire to "come out from among them and be seperate".
Sadly, the role of women in scripture is INFINITELY more satisfying, more fullfilling and more important than the Babylonian counterfeit, which ultimately leads to ruin. Our nation is NOT blessed, neither will it be, as long as it stands in rebellion against Yahweh's Eternal Standard. (Isaiah 3:11 "Woe unto the wicked! [it shall be] ill [with him]: for the reward of his hands shall be given him. [As for] my people, children [are] their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause [thee] to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.)"
"Believing" is not just some sentimental emotion. It is TRUSTING, trusting our Heavenly Father enough to know that He knows better than we do what is good and what is not. Believing, is OBEYING; not rationalizing, not looking for loopholes, just obeying. This is how the Hannahs, the Ruths, the Deborahs find themselves memorialised in scripture for generation after generation, and it is how women in our day will also find Divine Honor.
